In the hospital parking lot, I debated with myself what record to put on for Zooey Grace McGinley’s first car ride home. Bright Eyes’ “First Day of My Life” and Elliot Smiths’ “Happiness” came to mind, but seemed obvious and a tad dramatic. I fiddled with the EQ settings until the bass was real quiet and went with Atmosphere’s “In Her Music Box”…Fatherhood is a trip.
